WP3

Toxicity assessment

Samples will be assessed in a tiered approach (Tier 1-4) building on a wider effect screening towards more comprehensive effect characterization and exposure-effect profiling.

Objectives:

  • To perform toxicological profiling of indoor and outdoor air samples.
  • To assess in vitro toxicity of reconstituted mixtures of IAQ determinants focusing on the mechanisms of lung toxicity, endocrine disruption and impaired neurodevelopment.
  • To validate in vivo the results from in vitro assessment.
  • To characterize the molecular drivers of observed toxic responses through QSAR modelling and virtual- and higher-tier effect directed analysis.

Deliverables:

  • D3.1. Report on in vitro toxicity profiling of indoor samples.
  • D3.2. Report on characterisation of local and systemic effects in vivo of indoor samples.
  • D3.3. Report on a strategy for risk driver prioritisation based on NAMs
