Toxicity assessment
Samples will be assessed in a tiered approach (Tier 1-4) building on a wider effect screening towards more comprehensive effect characterization and exposure-effect profiling.
Objectives:
- To perform toxicological profiling of indoor and outdoor air samples.
- To assess in vitro toxicity of reconstituted mixtures of IAQ determinants focusing on the mechanisms of lung toxicity, endocrine disruption and impaired neurodevelopment.
- To validate in vivo the results from in vitro assessment.
- To characterize the molecular drivers of observed toxic responses through QSAR modelling and virtual- and higher-tier effect directed analysis.

- D3.1. Report on in vitro toxicity profiling of indoor samples.
- D3.2. Report on characterisation of local and systemic effects in vivo of indoor samples.
- D3.3. Report on a strategy for risk driver prioritisation based on NAMs
