WP5

Advancing hazard identification and risk management strategies

WP5 is an important overarching WP integrating data and findings from WP1-4. It ranks and prioritise indoor determinants based on occurrence, levels, exposure and likelihood for causing specific health effects. Furthermore, it will identify key sources of the prioritized IAQ determinants and suggest new regulatory strategies to promote healthy homes.

Objectives:

  • To develop and enrich AOPs and AOP networks for data integration and exploration of interactions.
  • To evaluate the importance of IAQ to internal chemical exposure.
  • To establish a list of prioritized sources of indoor air pollutants.
  • To prioritize chemicals and biologicals in indoor air whose risks need to be managed.
  • To develop guidelines and recommendations to promote risk management strategies that protect also the health of the most vulnerable populations.

Deliverables:

  • D5.1: Report on AOPs related to adverse effects on early development and immune system relevant for indoor exposure.
  • D5.2: Report describing the role of IAQ and its exposure determinants on internal chemical exposure in 8 EU countries.
  • D5.3: Report of key sources for indoor chemical and biological determinants.
  • D5.4: Report of prioritized chemical and biological determinants of concern.
  • D5.5: The INQUIRE Action plan for promoting healthy homes in Europe.
